Texas Sunday Service 2020-12-13

Are you willing to bring the truth always with grace, seasoned with salt?  A  Peacemaker brings the salt that brings a conviction, that brings a reality, to the other person so they can stop warring with God.

Service Notes For Sunday Texas 2020-12-13

SPEAKERS:

  • Bob Hicks
  • Rick Eutsler

SCRIPTURES:

  • Matthew 5:3-19, Matthew 25:21, James 1:2, Colossians 4:5-10, John 20:29, Matthew 5:9, 2 Peter 1:4

SUBJECT:

  • Branches of the vine that don’t bear fruit are cut off and burnt in the fire and those branches that don’t bear fruit are Christians.
  • Peacemakers have given up being at war with God.
  • Salt of the earth –Christians have not turned away but they sit and wait for things to happen, or need to see to believe and they are doing as Thomas did.
  • Good salt preserves and you can be that salt if you keep pressing forward and don’t go back.
  • Colossians 4:5-6 If you are a believer you ARE the salt. If the salt does not season our food we throw the salt out. Salt preserves and drives away the corruption, salt helps preserve food. Salt in a wound can clean out an infection.
  • “Wrap your head around it” was the act of Thomas saying show me the holes.   Just believing God because He said it, is better.   To process or wrap your head around it is filtering it through your understanding and your intellect and judging the very word of God if it has relevance to you.
  • We don’t see much of Thomas anymore in scripture.   Someone that believes Christ will bear much fruit and leave a mark like salt that is salty and will drive away corruption.
  • Salt polarizes people.   Would you rather your feelings not get hurt and you go to hell or realize those feelings are from the pits of hell?
  • Salt is supposed to bring conviction so you can tap into the mercy of God.   The smallest thing untreated can lead to all manner of things.   Salt is that truth that brings the conviction of the Holy Ghost into a person’s life so they can repent and tap into the mercy of God.
  • A  Peacemaker brings the salt that brings a conviction, that brings a reality, to the other person so they can stop warring with God.  Anything short of “yes Sir, you are right” is being Thomas.
  • Bring the peace treaty which is total and utter surrender, no margins, no excuses (because they strengthen the evildoers which is not being salty).   Rubbing anything but salty salt in the wound does no good.
  • Are you willing to bring the truth always with grace, seasoned with salt?
  • Jesus says to love those that hate you, do good to those that despitefully use you are you willingly take the harm for the sake of the other?   That is the walk for Christ.
  • Go and read Colossians 3.
